Band: Vibration Boys
From: Bristol, UK

Their formation story:
"So, we all played in bands before the pandemic for years in various different projects, etc. After lockdown the one thing we all wanted was to finally do a project all of us together and make up for lost time. We’ve all been mates for 10+ years originally coming from North Devon and all moving to Bristol around 7 years ago.

"We got in a room and essentially stayed there for a year wanting to get it all right rather than rushing out like we had done in previous projects. So, after a year hiding away we decided to announce the band with a headline charity show."

Their sound in their own words:
"A thing about the time in the room was we didn’t want to be like, “oh, let’s try do some thing this band or this band or XYZ.” We wanted to purely get in a room and see what happened. We all have such a range of personal influences from bands like Killing Joke, Motörhead, Turnstile, The Damned, Superheaven, and so many more.

"We all love our classic punk, hardcor,e and anything loud, rhythmic, and driven, and I feel like our sound really has reflected that now, it’s a bit of everything we like with our own stamp that’s come from years of playing around the UK underground scene."

Latest release info:
"Our first release is a song titled ‘Godspeed.' The song itself was chosen to be recorded first as we felt is was the song that umbrellas all of what we sound like, big fast and punchy. Lyrically, George came up with a fantastic commentary on what we felt the world looked like when we left the pandemic. It’s a comment on too many of the wrong people in power, chasing an arms race and carrying on ignoring that the world is dying. Hence the lyric ‘we’re stood on a ticking time bomb,'

"The track was mixed by Chris Sanderson of Grove Street and Mastered by Stu Mckay (Malevolence, Dyscarnate, Backdown)."

Future plans:
"Honestly, the only real answer to this question is to find out if people are into what we’re trying to do. And so far the feedback has been amazing. We’re so happy at the moment as we feel no rush to do anything for anyone.

"We’re getting music out at a pace that allows us to really put effort and love into the recording process, and in that time just try and play as many shows with as many good bands as we can. Whether that’s our own headline runs or opportunities that we search for and ones that may come our way."

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"One of the best things about being from Bristol is the amount of music flooding out at the moment. We played with Split Dogs on our opening show and they where fantastic. Fast energetic punk. Oversize are another band that I have personally worked with many a time and they just keep on killing it.

"Other mentions are bands like Overpower, Out of Love, Grove Street, Taipan, and Plastics."
