Band: Passed Out

Their formation story:
(Aleks, vocals): "Passed Out came together pretty naturally — just a mix of people finding each other at the right time. Our drummer, Marius, and Briegel on guitar had already played together in another project and in mid-2023 they started rehearsing with Ana on second guitar in Cologne. At some point they were looking for a vocalist and that’s where I came in! They saw me do a guest feature at a Times of Desperation show in Cologne and asked if I’d be interested.
"We originally had someone else on bass but it didn’t really work out the way we had hoped. Then in summer 2024 Fabi joined us as the new bassist which really completed us as a band. We never had some big master plan — we just wanted to play music that means something to us and have fun. And now about a year later things have just kept rolling."
Their sound in their own words:
"When it comes to our style, we like to call it 'sassy hardcore.' It’s fast, loud, and full of energy — but with a bit of an attitude. We take the rawness and aggression of hardcore and mix it with a playful, almost sarcastic edge. It’s not just about being pissed off; it’s about expressing anger, frustration, and resistance in a way that feels empowering rather than just destructive.
"Musically, we’re inspired by the underground hardcore scene especially our local DIY-driven bands that put their whole heart into what they do.
"Lyrically, we cover a lot such as veganism, capitalism, self-protection, personal struggles or oppression. We’re not here to preach but if someone walks away from a show or a song thinking about something in a new way that’s already a win."
Latest release info:
"We had the chance to work with incredibly talented people throughout the entire process — whether it was recording, mixing, mastering or the artwork. Everyone involved put so much heart into this and we really feel like that comes through in the final result. The writing process was super fun - some ideas came from jam sessions and others started as random voice Notes I sent to the group in the middle of the night.
"Web of Lies has 8 tracks and is both pissed off and playful, with riffs that make you want to move and lyrics that might make you think."
Future plans:
"We’ve got some shows lined up across Germany in the next few months until autumn including our first festival, which we’re really stoked about! We’re also planning a tour with Wrecked Culture, which will take us to Southeast Europe in early October! Oh and who knows - maybe we’ll be working on another release later this year!"
