Their formation story:
(Dannii, vocals): "So, me and Jack had been trying to get this band going for almost a year, we had a couple of songs already written but just didn’t really know who to ask cause everyone was already in bands.
"Jack plays in Accusation with Tom (Step Beyond/previously Dedicate) and we asked him and he was down. Jake plays in Step Beyond with Tom and now Accusation, which completed the lineup."
Their sound in their own words:
"I would 100% say the vibe we are going for is early '00s Lockin Out. We all love that shit and are patiently waiting for the return of that sound (it’s coming I’m sure of it!).
"My favourite hardcore band is Righteous Jams so we definitely try to sound like them. Also influences from bands like Mental, Rampage, Free Spirit, Dump Truck/The Wrong Side, etc."
Latest release info:
"I would describe Cannonball as unserious straight edge. The demo is such a mix of songs. Going from the first song which is a super straight edge song, to buzz off and monopoly madness which are just silly songs.
"Jack, Tom and Jake write all the songs and I write lyrics. I also appreciate the fact that they never turn down any of my stupid ideas, like at the end of the demo shouting out Eggy, mine and Jack’s dog who passed away last year (RIP)."
Future plans:
"We have our first show in Sheffield in August with TS Warspite, followed by Conviction Records all-dayer in Newcastle in September, and then a few other shows are in the works, including a Christmas cover set where we play all the Lockin' Out classics.
"Since the demo came out, we’re picking up shows up and down the UK."
