Hive: Minneapolis Crust Greats Return with “Threaten” (PREMIERE)

Caption goes here...

Hive was formed in 2014 by guitarist/vocalist Morgan Carpenter (Bosnia) and drummer Mike Paradise (Antiverse, Threadbare), bringing forth their mutual love for all-things D-beat and crust. All that is perfect since Hive are based out Minneapolis, a city known for those strains of hardcore punk. 2015 saw them release their debut self-titled EP on limited edition cassette and 12” vinyl, with a proper full-length LP, Parasitic Twin, following in 2017.

2018 brought on a Hive split 7” with fellow Minneapolis hardcore band, No Skin. That brings us to Most Vicious Animal, the group's forthcoming album. Recorded in a marathon session that lasted all of two days, the LP is comprised or 12 tracks that live up to the album's menacing title, and No Echo got its hands on "Threaten," a brutal selection from the collection:

"The concentration is on a massive wall of D-beat, and a casual listen might leave you with this sole impression, but Hive are a desperate act breathing welcome life into a subgenre that is often phoned in," said Maximum Rocknroll of Hive, and No Echo backs that statement, 100%.

Most Vicious Animal will be released on all formats by Crown And Throne Ltd. (vinyl, limited edition cassette, digital) and Seeing Red Records (CD, digital) in August 2019.
