The Last Stand + One X Choice: NYHC & CAHC Bands Team Up

NYHC will combine forces with CAHC this year thanks to Irish Voodoo Records. The project will be a split EP featuring Brooklyn, NY's The Last Stand (ex-Shutdown, Confusion) and Southern California's One X Choice. "We go back with Vic from One X Choice for over two decades," says The Last Stand vocalist Michael Scondotto. "Back when Shutdown and Inhuman did a US tour together in 1998, we did shows with Vic's old band, Collision, and we have been friends ever since."

"The Last Stand put out our last release with Irish Voodoo as did One X Choice, so it made sense to stick with them for this split," says the vocalist of the forthcoming EP, which is tentatively titled East/West Brotherhood. "It will be all new material from both bands and we are excited about it. The split is a great way to have people check out both bands and have both bands gain some new fans as well, of course."

2018 marked One X Choice's 10-year anniversary as a band. "The SoCal bands that had the deepest impact on me when I got into hardcore were A Chorus of Disapproval, Strife, Unbroken, Insted, Inside Out, Chain of Strength, Blackspot, and House of Suffering," vocalist Victor Galindo told me last year.

One X Choice's latest release was 2017's Words Run Out EP, which was recorded by Paul Miner, a producer/engineer/musician who has also worked with such bands as H2O, Shiners Club, and Broken Teeth.

The Last Stand/One X Choice split EP will arrive in stores later this year via Irish Voodoo Records.
