Band: Spit
From: Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK

Their formation story:
(Scott, vocals): "A group of friends that wanted to form a hardcore punk band, motivated by the surge of great acts coming to our city thanks to work from friends like The Lubber Fiend, Flat Four, and Conviction Records."

Their sound in their own words:
"
Hardcore punk influenced by bands like Urban Blight, Never Again, and BIB."

Latest release info:
"We wanted to follow up on our demo (2022, Conviction Records) and thought we should release a few songs as a promo for a later release. We recorded the songs live with Elliot Dixon in their practice room in Newcastle upon Tyne.

"Joe Munsey created our logo and Josh Aitken created the artwork for the tape. The artwork was based on a Halloween outfit for a Counter Culture Records show we played in Liverpool in October 2022 with The Flex, The Social, and Firearm.

"Ben Jones mixed and mastered the songs. We had a really enjoyable time with the writing process and feel grateful to know so many talented friends that could help us make what we wanted."

Future plans:
"We have a short tour booked in May, where we'll be playing an Evil Stick Records Show in Leeds, Brighton Punx Picnic, a Busy Bodies Sheffield show and a hometown show in Newcastle, organised by Conviction Records, to finish. After that we're going to press on with finishing songs for a release to follow our promo (2024, Conviction Records)."

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Newcastle is a buzzing region of talent at the moment. Diall, Mortsafe, A Life Less Ordinary, and Bloodfury are all worth listening to. Not too far down the road in Leeds you have bands such as The Reflecting Skin, Frisk, The Shits, Motive, and Pleasure who are also all worth your time."
