Band: Escalation of Force

Their formation story:
(T.J. Ulin, vocals) "I’ve always played guitar in bands but wanted to do vocals a change. I went and wrote a couple songs with Mike Moynihan at Magic Labs Studio to get the ball rolling.
"As the songs were forming, my brother Brandon (bass) and I started reaching out to our good friends who have played guitar in bands with us previously: Matt Earp and Shawn Williams, last but not least we reached out to Rory Frank to play drums."
Their sound in their own words:
"The influences of the band range from hardcore to metal to death metal. In my mind, I’d say musically the band sounds like Merauder, Hatebreed, and Dying Fetus, or at least those were the bands I had in mind while writing it. Vocally, I just think it’s anger, there is no particular band I was trying to emulate as far as the vocal tone or vocal patterns."
Latest release info:
"We released the War Mentality promo last month. Both songs ('Death Letter' and '33.3444° N, 43.7813° E') are based on my emotions from my deployment to Fallujah, Iraq while serving in the Marine Corps. These aren’t in anyway glorifying war, more so the struggles you face mentally while there as well as returning home."
Future plans:
"We're currently booking our first show, we will be announcing that soon. We are writing our EP, so we will record that and book more shows to get our name out there .We have a ton of bands locally that we want to play shows with and if any opportunities pop up elsewhere we will look into it."

"Detroit has so many bands popping up along with the veterans of the scene, I’d say check out: Ante Up, D-Bloc, Bad Beat, We Will Rot, Red Lord, Luck Runs Out, Wounded Touch, Dead Hang, Big Deal, Doubt it!, Vigilante, Lockdown, Come Out Fighting, Slice, and Bitter Truth.
"All of these bands are doing something a little different than the next, and worth checking out."
